Simon Walker Fund

Helping the individual journey

We invite bids made on behalf of South London and Maudsley (SLaM) service users for amounts of £250. These funds can be used to support people in their recovery from mental illness, for example, vocational, occupational or other courses, and/or items needed to help their journey to improved mental health and wellbeing.

A gesture of hope

The Simon Walker Fund was founded in 2002 by the parents of Simon Walker, a former service user at Maudsley Hospital. They donated funds in his memory as a gesture of hope, to assist people who use the services of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

Applicants need to demonstrate that they are in active rehabilitation, for example: trying to regain or improve everyday skills; finding new interests and building on strengths and abilities; exploring/developing creative activities; developing work skills, use of leisure time and exploring educational opportunities.
