Maudsley Charity Grants

We are pleased to announce a new Open Grants round for spring 2017, inviting applications for projects that support one or more of the Maudsley Charity’s strategic priorities, with a particular emphasis on the first two:

  • Recovery, self-management and support to stay well
  • Improved experience of care – that is provided by South London and Maudsley (SLaM) and its partners (where related to mental health)
  • Growth and spread of knowledge and understanding which will impact future care and prevention.

Application process

We encourage all applicants to discuss their proposals with us at an early stage – we are happy to provide advice and support throughout the application process.

Please contact David Blazey, Head of Grants,, with a very brief description of your proposal to check whether it meets the requirements of this round and to request an Expression of Interest form. Please include your phone number in the message.

We will need to have your Expression of Interest form, emailed to, as soon as possible after that, ideally by the end of March, so that we can send you a link to the online application form in good time if you are invited to apply for a grant.

Full applications, submitted online, must be received by midnight on 1 May 2017.

You will be notified of the outcome of your application as soon as possible after 27 June 2017.

This is a limited call, with an expectation that projects will keep within a maximum funding allocation of £50,000.

PLEASE NOTE: We are currently not accepting funding applications for research projects.

The Guidance for Grant Applicants provides some basic information about our funding and processes.

The deadline for applications is 1 May 2017.
