Maudsley Charity Grants

We are pleased to announce a new Open Grants round for spring 2017, inviting applications for projects that support one or more of the Maudsley Charity’s strategic priorities, with a particular emphasis on the first two:

  • Recovery, self-management and support to stay well
  • Improved experience of care – that is provided by South London and Maudsley (SLaM) and its partners (where related to mental health)
  • Growth and spread of knowledge and understanding which will impact future care and prevention.

Support with the grant application process

We encourage all applicants to discuss their proposals with us at an early stage – we are happy to provide advice and support throughout the application process. Please contact Juliet Barnett as soon as possible on 07787 124647 or send an email to to make an appointment for a face-to-face or telephone meeting. You will then be able to discuss your proposal with Dr David Blazey, Head of Grants.

Summary of your proposed project

Following a discussion, you may be asked to submit an Expression of Interest, giving an outline of your proposed project with an estimate of the cost. If it is agreed that your proposal should be considered further, you will be invited to submit a full application online, using a link that will be sent to you.

This is a limited call, with an expectation that projects will keep within a maximum funding allocation of £50,000.

PLEASE NOTE: We are currently not accepting funding applications for research projects.

The Guidance for Grant Applicants provides some basic information about our funding and processes.

The deadline for applications is 30 April 2017.
