Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
Maudsley Charity is the hospital charity for South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM). We fundraise and support projects across SLaM, the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, our local community and nationally.
We back better care, recovery and prevention of mental illness. We support patients and families, clinical care teams and scientists who are working towards the common goal of improving mental health
We can trace our roots back to the foundation of Bethlem Royal Hospital in 1247, the oldest psychiatric institution in the world. Founded on a charitable deed by Simon Fitzmary, Sheriff of the City of London, charity has been at the heart of the organisation from its foundation.
The Charity has recently become independent of SLaM Foundation Trust and has been working to put in place all that is needed for the organization to function smoothly and deliver its mission effectively. It is an exciting time to join an organization that is ambitious and sees an opportunity to extend its impact significantly in a number of ways.
We plan to increase the resources available for our work through rethinking our investment strategies and seeking to optimize our mix of investments and improve returns overall. We are also looking to build our fundraising capacity and are on the brink of launching a major appeal to build a ground breaking centre for children and young people’s mental health, bringing together research and clinical practice in order to take forward patient care in this field.
We have a new board and governance structure and are looking at our strategies for the coming five to ten year period in the months ahead. This November we will model the organization’s plans, building for the first time from the emerging profile of the major initiatives described above.
